Default same problem with the switch

hi guys,

My sidestand switch is getting stuck (streetbob 2008 international model) causing the engine to shut down. Cleaning it did not really helped thus I had to order a new switch from the dealer today.

Following the wiring, the cable ends in a connector (3 pin connector) , to make things worse I broke the shell and need to replace it as well .. - does anybody knows the part number for the connector ?

Thanks !

Switch? We don't need no stinking switch.

Wow you mean the bike will just shut down while riding. I bet you can bypass it rather easily and get rid of it. Kinda like bypassing the seat switch on a riding mower.

I agree! And if you have ridden off with the jiffy down.....more than once, you have a more serious issue

The whole switch wire, etc included parts numbers from Softail, but should be the same:

49716-08A - Jiffy stand sensor with 72169-07, 72511-07BK, 73213-07 (HDI, England)
-----
3594 - Screw to hold the switch at jiffy stand
-----
Individual components of plug to connect to bike harness:
72169-07 - Terminal, pin # 16-20 AWG (HDI, England) (3)
72511-07BK - Housing, 3-way, pin (HDI, England)
73213-07 - Retainer, X-mas tree clip (HDI, England)

There is no part number for the sensor itself, except the 49716-08A package with all included. So my guess is the dealer ordered you this part.

I'm sure there is a way to bypass the switch by connecting the right wires.

My 08 crossbones did not have one. However my 09 police road king does. To the guy that asked about if you put it down does it shut your bike off. Yes it does and the words side stand scroll on the odometer.
