Cobra Billet Electronic Tach that mounts on the handle bar clamp:

I'd like to get this for my 2006 Night Train, but the desc says:

This will only work with single fire ignitions; stock evolution motors have dual fire ignitions and will need a single fire ignition for this to work

Does that mean I have to change out my ignition or what does mine have? I think it looks super sharp.

You have a twin cam, it should work. The fitment is listed as 2000-2009 FXST.

Yep your night train is single fire, but then I also sent you the install instructions. Glad you found me, the tach wasn't doing any thing except sitting in my garage.

 

So thankful to have found you Dave. I'm one happy little girl! You've been great help. The time you took to write out the email instructions and also the actual installation instructions should help out greatly. Shawns pretty knowledgable when it comes to mechanical but he doesn't like electrical too much. That's actually my profession so I'm the electrician in the household! I'm sure it will go smoothly when we get around to doing it. Hopefully we get our current project done so we can attempt it this weekend. I'll be in touch!

 

I have a Dyna tach that is a stock HD part# so it looks ight on my bike. Three wires: pink is signal, black is groung and orange is power. This should be similar to your setup.
