'Looking at a '92 Fatboy
Hello. I am posting here in the hope to get some insight on purchasing a '92 Fatboy.
The bike is fair shape. It is for sale at an HD Dealership so I feel quasi-confident that it will hold up. The wheels will need to be replaced in some time as will the seat. The bike looks fairly stock but I am a new rider and new to H-D so I don't know much.
What I am really looking for is any opinions on the year and if anyone knows of serious issues with this year. I would buy newer if I could but this bike fits in my price range where I am comfortable. I don't have any issues with a carburated bike. My one concern is the solid motor mounts.

At that price, for that vintage, you have you choice of MANY nice H-D's. Unless there's something very exceptional about that one, I'd keep looking. Might even find one with wheels you like, and that alone, would save you a bundle.

I paid 6 G for my 91 that had a new 98 motor with flowed heads, Crane cam etc. Put on new 80 spoke wheels. (they are cheaper than you think when you have bro that is custom bike dealer), tins etc. Only a little over 7 G in it when I was done. It will run circles around my bros warmed over twin cam. Wouldnt trade my Evo for any slug running, cam tensioner eating twin cam.
