storing bike for a year
OK, so I am leaving tomorrow for deployment. What do I need to do with the bike to keep it good to go while I am gone? I am prepared to get a jack, tender, etc. as needed. I was just looking at jacks. the only real avaliable options at this point are the craftsman (both red and black and yellow) and a cheaper one at norther tools and equipment.

If it were me, I would make sure all fluids are at their proper levels, put stabilizer in the fuel disconnect battery (put on a battery tender to keep it charged) put the bike in an air bubble. ---> http://www.hwaccessories.com/PDK/Mot...e-Capsule.html <---
Have someone you trust check on it often.
As for jacking it up - it would only need be slightly off the ground to keep the tires 1/2" off the floor. Chock it so it is SUPER SECURE and can not topple over.
If you do not jack/chock it - put a piece of flat wood or thick rubber beneath the Kickstand and the floor if on concrete to avoid oxidation issues.
Good Luck
STAY SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What everybody says except I would worry about the battery tender. Just disconnect it and deal with it when you get back. It may need charged or it may not. Fuel stabilizer is important. I don't know that you have to get the tires off the ground, but getting the weight off is important. I live in a mostly military neighborhood, we've all deployed and none of the HDs have had an issue beyond a needing a battery charge.
