Has anyone put a set of these on their 96" or 103" inch softy yet??? How do they sound and perform??

Put a set of their shotguns on my '05 88" this past spring. I wasn't thrilled with the sound when I put them on, but they've gotten louder and throatier with some miles on them. The finish is starting to show some blue through the black, but I wasn't expecting the black to hold up like chrome does. They are substantially hotter than the V&H shorts I took off, mostly due to the lack of heat shields. I plan on wrapping them this winter to help with the heat, and so I don't have to look at the failing finish.

But overall, good sound and good looks for pretty low $. One word of caution, they are not necessarily "bolt-on". At least not on my Train. I had to counter bore the back of the mounting bracket to allow for the bolt head that attaches the rear brake light switch to the frame. Not a huge deal, but if you don't have a decent drill press it can be a big PITA.

 

Perform? Any 2-2 exhaust system is about looks, not performance, "cool" pipes, I have had similar pipes, they look the look, period.

Drew Thanks man..I really like my Rinehart Crossbacks..and I had just seen these from Russell and was curious if anyone had a set and what they sounded like... I havent heard allot of good comments on how they sounded so not willing to give up my Rineharts for these...

 

I just put a set on my 09' Night train and like said before they don't bolt-on. I have to lengthen the top pipes bracket to fit and also add an additional spacer for the rear foot peg so it clears the pipe. The bolt and spacer they give you in the kit doesn't work on this year also. Nice pipes and sound good though...just some additional work.
