The RK I tested back in 09 IMO didn't ride any better than Our stock shocks on our Heritage and as U state the seat and bars are better on the Heritage. just me.

In all fairness I'll add I only rode one for 45mins.

It's those harsh bumps that shocks your spine from the rear susp,
or lack there of.
I'm torn here. Want a touring bike. Just the plain version. No tour pack (yet)
But they have their problems too. The "wobble", and motor mount issues.
Can't afford an 09 up so it would have to be older.
Or should I just STFU and just keep my tried & true (paid 4) ST?!!

My '03 Heritage in stock form was just unacceptable to me, but that's just my personal preference. In stock form the Road King was a little smoother but it needed attention as well, in my opinion.

I bought the Heritage over the Road King primarily because it was a deal I could not pass up.

Now the '03 rides very nicely thank you. But both the front and rear end needed help. I went with Progressive 422 rear shocks at 50% pre-load for a 275 pound load. No more spine pounding like I had with the stock shocks cranked to the max pre-load. The front end is much improved with Progressive Heavy Duty springs with reasonable pre-load and the proper fork oil. No more clunk sounds and nose diving under breaking.

Handling is good for a 700+ pound bike. I do not expect it to flick around like a sport bike. I did replace the original Dunlops with Avon Venom tires, they made a nice improvement and give me much better confidence when I grad the floor boards through the turns.
