Unhappy Chrome Consoles and Seat Compatability

I want to get a new 2-up seat, and I have the Harley low profile chrome console installed (part # 71208-07).

Corbin said their seats are not compatible with the console. CC seats said the same thing - I actually have a solo CC seat and it was terrible trying to get it on. I had to bend the tongue so much to get it on that it slid the seat forward and would not fit in the back fender hole without some jimmying things around a lot, and it doesn't look good.

I really wanted the Corbin Gunfighter for it's sleek look and back support. This bites.

What seats do you have with your low profile chrome console??

You might need a custom seat.

There's no place around here that does them, every place is out in California or Florida.

The console looks sharp but I would have skipped it had I foreseen this.

Peg
My Deluxe is an 07, and I have the same tank console as you, with a C&C solo, and I never had any trouble fitting mine, no bending or forcing.

I had a Lepera Silhouette that worked with your console, I also used the C & C Solo but it didn't fit the best (like yours).

I have a C&C Solo on my 05 Fatboy with this console. Seems like I did some minor adjusting but it fits great!

I have a LaPera Silhouette 2-up with that console and it fits perfect.

I ran into a similar problem with my LePera bare bones solo seat. I did have to bend the tongue just slightly and its fits pretty snug. Very happy with result. I think a slight alteration to the tongue on the seat is well worth the looks of the lo profile console.

Sharp looking bike.

The Le Pera won't work on my bike because it has a metal seat pan. Looks like I'm out of luck for now. Maybe I can find someplace to make me a pan then have someone make a seat around that.

This might be ridiculous to post, but with all the money you have into your bike already, would it be worth it to call up Danny Gray or someone and say "Hey, this is what I have, this is what I need, can we do something?"

flash him a smile or two, see what happens..
