If you had a little torch to heat up the bolt head, it might help to break it loose. It took me a long time to remove that bolt also because of the oil line that is right in the way. I could only move my wrench like 1/8" at a time.

No, the shocks are not going to smack you.

Do you have a bottle jack you can place under the rear tire to support it once the bolt is removed?
Or use lumber or something high enough support the wheel. Being able to raise or lower the wheel/swing arm will make removal of the old and installation of the SAS easier.

I used a box end 3/4 wrench and while applying pressure, tapped the wrench with a rubber mallet to break the bolt loose.

I recommend anti-seize on the shoulder of the bolts once you are reassembling it.
Red loctite on the threads.

Since the SAS is a single unit like the ShotGun, you might not need the washers on the rear bolts. The Shotgun doesn't need them.

Have read somewhere on the forum a recommendation to raise bike, position wrench between bolt & floor, lower bike & the bike will loosen bolt.

Mine was so tight, that would have just tipped the bike over on the floor.

Heat it. Also, a 3/4" gear wrench from sears will really help as you won't have to continually take it off the bolt and turn it. They make one that has the optehrs ide of teh wrench turned the otehr way so it is really easy to get extra leverage. I would use that and smack it with a hammer or mallet until it loosens. I think this wrench only comes in a full set. The lowering teh bike onto the wrench to loosen is a good option too. Smart!

Another option is to use a piece of pipe or an old set of bars on the wrench for extra leverage.

Good luck!

The compressor is a separate piece but the rest is all in one.
