Default Heritage fairing

I'm redoing me earlyer question because I don't think I explained my self very well. I'm trying to see if I can put a older fairing off an flh with the cut out headlight opening on my Heratige. I want it removable so I can put me windshield back on after my long summer trips. If this is possible I was hoping to find a used one since it would only be on a coulpe times a summer and a lot cheaper.

I just got finnished with installing a 2003 fairing on my Road King.
Used the outer fairing and machined round stock to match a factory quick disconnect windshield bracket. That was a little tricky but turned out perfect.
I had the inside sprayed with Line-X and then painted the outside to match my bike. Installed a 7" windshield from Sin State Cycles but also had to machine a strip on the inside of the fairing to hold the backside of the windshield.
I love It. Probably never use the stocke windshield again and loaned it to a friend for his RK Classic.
Also had to move my running lights to the foward hole.
PM me it you have any questions.

Did you have to remove your headlight and bracket or did you cut out so it went around? Also what was the fairing off of? Thanks Al

The fairing was off a 2003 Ultra and yes I did use a die grinder and dremmel to remove the bottom portion of the fairing so it would come just to the bottom of the headlight. I have the trim rings on my passing lights and headlight, about 2" and I also trimmed the sides and top a little.
The angle of the fairing matches the same as factory.
Like I said before, I just took my time and got it perfect.
If I can ever get my wife to take some pictures I will post them.
Hope this helps.

Try Mckays Cycles www.mckayscyclecreations.com , they make a quick detach kit to mount a FL Fairing on a Softail
