I know with progressive when I was getting a quote for the new bike, they allow up to a certain dollar amount on the policy and then you can adjust for a higher dollar amount based on what you have on there.
+1 - Yup, got Progressive also and pay < $100.00 for $12K in accessories. The only documentation they need are current pictures. Receipts are also good to have, however, today's ink fades with age (actually with UV light) and don't reflect labor costs.

Yep 2 of my bikes are insured this way $12,000 above value of bike. I'm also with progressive and I pay $122.53 a month for it.

Had GEICO until we added a bunch of stuff. GEICO caps accessory coverage at a very low level...I think it was $5K. Switched to Progressive. For my 07 SG +$30K of accessory coverage (liability is $250K/$500K) the premium is $660. For the 10 Deluxe +$15K of accessories, premium is $399. For the 12 FB Lo $5K accessories, premium is $274.

You might want to check on the $30K+ over value and they only charge you $50 per month for that? I called them and asked them and they said they would never value a bike for 30K above bike value unless it has been appraised for such. They also said that if that did get done it would be a lot higher by more than double of $660. I just hung up with them, so maybe you just got lucky with them, good job.

I have Progressive and am renewing my policy right now. My policy includes $3000 in Accessory Coverage. I called Progressive and to increase my Accessory Coverage to $4000 it's an additional $12 a year, $5000 $24 per year. Their Accessory Coverage also includes labor (so I was told).

My premium for a 2010 Fatboy Lo with $100,000/$300,000, Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist, Comp, Collision, $3000 Accessory Coverage and Roadside assistance with a $1000 deductible is $493 year. I will be increasing my Accessory Coverage this year.

Yes they did send an appraiser. Fortunately it's all in the policy docs and the $30K accessories is there. Not sure what to make of the premium difference. Maybe discounted because of 3 bikes, or maybe location? We're just in lil ole Palm Bay florida. Anyway, hope it never has to be used.

My insurance company automatically gives me a $4000 increase when I called them and told them I was adding on custom parts. Anything after that, I would have to send Pics.
