There aremany differences. It might be a good idea to refer to a product booklet showing the differences in measurements, size, fuel capacity etc. (for instance: the dyna low-rider is slightly shorter in seat height, has a smaller gas tank, comescarburetored only, etc) Those kinds of factors might make your decision a bit easier. And then, of course there is also a price difference.

If none of those factors are seriously important to you, then take them both for a test drive if you can. Riding them, is ususally an 'on the spot' decision maker.

2 totally different animals. You need to test ride each. There is a huge difference in the feel of a FL model vs an FX model.

Being the thread was intiated in Nov of '06 and the guy made only three posts, all on the same day I would say he probably didn't buy either.

Hehe I had a Lowrider but an 01 and it was carbed... miss it a lot, dont think I would of liked it with EFI... just totaly different tude/sound from a carbed bike

Now I have a Fatboy, love it as well.. but its not my Lowrider my first Harley..

The new Lowriders are all EFI so I dunno.. 6 speed tho hah.. still a very sweet bike, with a tach included and built in semi-forward controls.. highway bars that let u heel shift and brake from em.. and they totaly comphy

Which bike do you keep going back to? Go with your initial gut feeling and you can't go wrong. I love several models for different reasons but I love my Deluxe for the nostalgic look and the feel. Get the bike that "you" truly want and that fits your personality and you can't go wrong.

Well, having owned an 06 Dyna Street bob and now an 06 softail deluxe, I would say the Fatboy, heritage or deluxe too.
I loved the Dyna just fine and it was a bit more aggressive riding, but not nearly as comfortable on longer road trips.

I would compare it to asking whether you want a medium sized sporty sedan such as a BMW 325 (Dyna) or a full size touring sedan such as an Acura TL, or BMW 525. The 325 is more exciting to drive, but not nearly as comfortable on long road trips as the 525. Yet the 525 can still get up and haul A$$.

Then ther's the look youre after too - for me the idea of what a hawg truly is, is more represented in the fatter bikes. The Dyna just didnt fit my dream like the deluxe does. And, the fact is, I'm still aggressive enough on the deluxe to give me that charge of power I crave. It feels much better on the freeway or any roads where speed, wind and traffic are factors. The fatter bikes don't get blown around as much, plus handle expansion joints and highway grooves better. really when i think about it the only advantage to the dyna is its price since you can tweak a fatboy to haul A$$ should you so desire. You need to ride both out on the open highway for at least 50-100 miles to really see what i'm talking about. Around town, you really can't get a clear picture, especially if the highway is what its all about for you.
