Fatboy or LowRider

RE: Fatboy or LowRider
If you have'nt decided between the Dyna line, and Softail line, then you're not ready to go buy a bike "next week". Rent and ride both styles. You may even want to try different styles of softails (FL's and FX's), as they are quite different. Review the different forums on here and make your own decision as it is an expensive one.

Without a doubt go for the Fat Boy. IMHO is the coolest bike in the softail line up. Heck even the Terminator rides one (lol). Ignore what others call "flaw", such thing is in the past. Mine is an '07 and the bike rides great, excellent power (don't be afraid to open it up once broke in). I ride mine every day to work and it's very comfortable. HD has done an excellent job in the vibration department, there IS NO significant difference between the rubber mounted and the counterbalanced engine in the FB. My ex-BMW RT1150 rattled more.

RE: Fatboy or LowRider
When I got my bike I considered a Low Rider, Fatboy, Road King Custom and Deuce.
I went Deuce!! [sm=happy046.gif]
Seriously though, try to ride them all if you can. Research it some more and most importantly, buy what YOU want. It's a lot of dough to plonk down, you have to live with it. I'm sure they'll all give you a huge smile when you ride.
Good luck and post some pics.

RE: Fatboy or LowRider
This question comes up often and as somebody else said, if you ask the same question on the Dyna side you'll get some different opinions. Here's a link to a recent Dyna vs Softail thread for you to peruse.

Best advice is to spend the time and money to rent both and ride each as much as possible. They are night and day in their feel and handling. Both are great rides in their own way.
That's just my opinion, I could be wrong. Good luck & ride safe.

I gotta agree, that if you're debating between a Dyna and a Softail, you're not quite ready to buy just yet. They are totally different machines. Both in their construction, rubber mount vs solid mount, their suspension setups, and their purposes. Both are great bikes, just really different. You should consider either getting a test ride on both, or better, rent each for a weekend and see which suits YOU the best. There are pros/cons to each. Personally, I prefer the softail line, but that's just me. As I've told my friends, that's why Harley makes so many different models, there's one for everyone's ***. Good luck and welcom to the forum.
