I have to push my lid down also. (one side makes contact before the other) But once down its level. Its just a leather covered piece of flexible plastic. Not as nice as the touring models.

Seem easy to me, Here what I'd do.

Talk to parts dept Mgr first and tell him the problem and see what they say.

Thinking thay should
Either they order U a new one or apply some torque in a twisty mannor to see if its just distorted or ****-eyed either from the factory or got that way from shipping.

Let them do the twisting if needed, that way if it is broken,, its on them.

Worst case, IMO I'd ask for Refund if U haven't had it over 30days.

If the lid is not closing right have the dealer replace it, or take it back and get a refund. Then spend your refund money at one of these companies on a well made trunk for your bike...

To close my tour pak I hold the two straps, pull back a little, then down and it closes perfectly. If you can't do that you need to have the dealer look at it.

Tom,
This must not be unusual. I noticed the same thing at a dealer in Rapid City. They had a 2012 Heritage, on their show room floor, with a tour pack mounted. It took some force to open and I noticed it was hard to line up to close. Had to kind of pull the lid toward you while closing.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I have been considering getting one for my Heritage.
