My Heritage Softail starts tapping at 3800 rpm's. It sounds like it comes from the primary. Some posters say don't get the 255 cams because they fall off at 4500 rpm's. My bike sounds like it would explode if I got anywhere near 4500 rpm's. Is there something wrong with my bike or is this normal for Harleys. Thanks in advance.
Maybe a loose compensator sprocket? That is the first thing that comes to mind for me. What eyar is your bike? If you have 2000-2006 it could be the primary chain is loose and hitting the indie of the primary cover. 07 and newer have the auto primary chain tensioner.
Holly Chit,, just take the fugger back to the dealer and ask him to take a look at it... If u don't like/trust the one where U got it, then go find one that U do.
