Default Opinions on Brass parts

I am looking for opinions on putting brass parts on a bike. Do you think you need to do all brass parts on a bike or is it acceptable to have some chrome/silver on there? I dig the brass look a lot just wanted to here some opinions.

What parts are you thinking of? I think if done tastefully it will look great.

Mirrors, air cleaner cover, nuts and fittings, headlight (black with brass rim), oil filler cap.

The thing I don't know about is whether or not they would go with my black and silver wheels. There is minimal silver in there (nips and hub) but still. By the way, your bike looks sick Drew.

I think it could work on your bike since there's a lot of black on it. I am in the process of modifying a brass 6" splash cymbal into an air cleaner cover, just waiting on the engraving. I'll post a pic later this week.

I think brass parts look great on bobbers and ol'skool bikes with simple paint jobs. They would look great on your Peanut Train. I think the key is to make sure you have the right mix and balance of brass parts. Having just a couple parts looks incomplete, but I've seen great bikes that have brass parts distributed across the bike. At one point, I was planning to get a black Street Bob and I wanted to get knurled brass grips and pegs, brass air cleaner hardware, and a few brass acorn nuts on smaller things.

I wouldn't aim for 100% brass -- I think brass accents with nice patina look better than big brass parts.

I think it looks nice but as others have said, only if done right and in small amounts. Otherwise it just looks tacky. I added the Shadetree Fab red brass air cleaner and it looks cool.

I think it looks great on a blacked out bike.
Like anything though, too much can ruin the look you're going for.

Someone has a Crossbones done with brass parts that looks great.
Try looking in the softail pictures section.

I love brass accents. I installed brass washers on every nut and bolt I could find and put brass nuts on anything that wasn't a stress part. Then I put acorns over the nuts of those bolts that were stressed. I think brass looks great on motorcycles....especially black ones
