I just had 880's installed Sunday the dealer put 44 in the rear and 38 in the front. I am not sure if this is a good psi or not but it is what they did. Hope it helps? The bike holds the road pretty good with this pressure.

Here's what Metzler recommends . . .

http://www.us.metzelermoto.com/web/p...s/default.page

The higher pressures I would think stems from the fact the ME 880 is a low profile tire (not much sidewall) and Metzler is worried that two up on a loaded down bike might pop the bead after hitting a bad bump in the road. But since I ride a lightweight hard tail solo (there's woman everywhere you go so why lug one around with you?) I run mine at 25 lbs. I've about 4000 miles on my rear Metzler 200 and so far no cupping or anything weird. And I've read in other Metzler threads some guys on hardtails run them as low as 16 pounds. BTW, these are the best motorcycle tire's I've ever ridden on!

I just switched to Metzeler's on mine. I was able to score a German made 200 rear tire from the dealer, the front was made in Brazil. Use the link above as a guide to inflate the tires and check monthly. The Metzelers handle better than the stock Dunlops IMHO.

I have the same combo. I'm pretty sure all the front tires are made in Brazil. But I still consider them German made as thousands of Germans fled to South America during and right after WWII. I'd bet the foreman at Metzler's Brazil factory is named Gunther, LOL!

Hey Nick,
I've been reading a lot about Metzler's improved handling, wear etc..., but with not a much sidewall and being worried about a blow out by hitting a pot hole, is that a concern? Is this an issue? Do you have (or anyone) have experiences on long trips with these? I'm considering them for my FLST and my FLHT and was looking for some insite.

I'm not an expert on tire tech but I mounted my Metzlers by hand and I can tell you that bead is very tight. I couldn't see it failing even on a horrendous pothole unless you did something horrible to your rim first. But that's a factor on any tire. On the other hand I see the smaller sidewall as an advantage. If you do get a garden variety blow out (sharp road debris) without much sidewall it's less distance to drop and less wobble while you're trying to slow down.
