The tag on the key ring may be a code you can give the dealer if you need to re-order keys for you bike, or a to buy key matched accessory. My keys had a tag with 4 digits followed by "HD". Don't know if its the same thing or not but check it out.

I faintly remember the details of the turn signal code you're talking about and I don't think the key tag had anything to do with it. I think it was generic and they said to "personalize" it right away. I'm not near my manual, so sorry I can't remember more.

I already have a way brighter than stock custom LED tail light with a smoked grey lens (it also has built in turn signals). I just installed it and was testing it when I noticed the flashing (I want my tail / break light to be bright, but I don't want it to flash).

On a side note, a tail light for an 04 Fatboy fits perfectly on an 04 FXST if you flip it over.

Yep, that's what I figured it was when I found out that the security system uses a 5 digit code. The tag does say HD after the four digits.
