Default New to Softail, A couple questions.

I purchased a new 2011 Heritage Softail Classic. I understand the catalytic converters are located inside both of the mufflers and not in head pipes? If that is the case has anyone had success removing the converters or converter material, are they a honeycome material or solid material. How did you do it? What did it sound like, good or bad? Did it affect performance good or bad? Did it cool things down? Do you need to pull mufflers to modify? Can you drill it out or punch it out??

I thought the cats were only on california models. In any case I put Rush slipons on mine within a few months of buying it.

I would say dump the stockers. Loud pipes saves lives! You dont want your Hog sounding like a sewing machine.
