Default looks like I'm stuck w/the fender bib now!

when i picked up my 2011 FB Lo...and got her home and removed the passenger seat. I noticed a small ding in the fender from the passenger seat bracket that the fender screw goes through.

I made the dealer aware of it, and they said it could be fixed, at their expense (I guess one of those dent trix guys)

I bought a HD fender bib to cover it up until...and I also thought it looked OK...although I was going to go with the solo seat and bare fender look eventually.

well, today..I gave the bike a rare wash down. I removed the seat & bib to wash (I do this to keep the seat dry).

the bib has worn an outline of its shape on the fender. And it's not not like denim black can be polished.

so, looks like I'm a bib man moving forward.

not pizzed or anything...I love the bike. but, I did want the option of going bib-less in the future...

now I have a ding and a bib outline on top of my fender. oh well, fukit...not like it's a show bike or anything.

thanks for allowing me to get that off my chest.

my bib did the same thing. Wish I'd realized it would do that BEFORE I left it on there long enough to cause damage.

I feel your pain. Maybe you can convince HD to replace your fender instead of fix it. I ran a bib for a while and it never left a mark (or at least not one you can see on white pearl) what brand of bib do u have?

I have the Harley MoCo bib.

oh well...

maybe I should just trade for the 2012 with the 103 and the new handle bars

what do y'all figure that would set me back?

You can paint it cheaper than buying one. Good luck Larry!

Same thing happened when I took the bib off my Crossbones (black denim). The area where the bib used to be is a little lighter than the rest of the tank. I still think it looks better than that ugly bib. I figure it will even out over time, I think it has a little already.
