Softail Deluxe vs. Heritage Softail
#71
I would not be telling the Latino Deluxe riders -- and they are muy popular in that neighborhood -- that the Deluxe is a girl's bike. Having said that, I ride a Fat boy. Check that scooter out too, I prefer the fatter tires and what I think is the better ride, but that's one man's opinion only. All softails rock...
I ride a FatBoy as well. Regarding the "girls' bike", you should have seen the guy we rode with today who owns a Deluxe...That "girl" as you say, could probably pop a basketball in one hand if he weren't careful...if the bike ran out of gas, I think he could have carried it home...

here in Colorado, I see as many women riding Heritage's and Deluxe's. For that matter women are riding baggers as well. Used to be a sporty was a "girls" bike, but "girls" ride all the bikes these days. Ride what you like, and like what you ride. People will say what they will say. Its not a popularity contest.

Heritage is the best deal because it comes fully dressed. I, though, like others, have stripped it all down to a "Deluxe" look, but can 'dress it up' in just a few minutes. The handlebars are very comfortable, but will be getting a shorter pair soon.

I look at it this way - You can strip all the luggage, etc. off a Heritage pretty quickly and have a very similar look to the Deluxe. I've ridden both, and both ride great!
If you're like the rest of us, you're going to make either bike your own by adding your own touches to it regardless of which one you get. These bikes rarely stay in their bone stock format - they're awesome platforms to customize and make it a reflection of your personality.
For me, that's a Heritage with chrome, brass, and distressed brown leather. Its just too bad my canvas didn't start with a 103" and 6spd trans....
Your mileage will vary.
Cheers m8!

Personally I just prefer the smoother look of the Deluxe, though the spots have grown on me. Both bikes fit my build fine though. If I can get that White Hot Pearl RKC off the brain I may try a Heritage next time around.
As far as the girl bike / man bike thing goes, if riding a particular bike makes you feel like a "man" you prolly have a small weeeee. Now go park your ***** at the curb and don't be a Twit. LoL

Here's my wife's "Chick Bike"
2003 Heritage
Yeah right. There are no chick bikes, unless she paints it
like one. Mary Kay pink or something. I see women ridin' em all now.
There's a few riding Street Glides, Road Kings too.
And I see young guys (like college age) riding Sportster's.
Old guys too.
