Now that right there is funny.

Go with the Heritage, everything you need is already there. Plus, the Old School look is cool.

Oh yeah, the deluxe is a girl's bike.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Do just have one hand..

I can remove my Bags, sheild, detachable sissy bar in less than (5) five minutes and install my solo rear pad.

If I wash and wax the whole bike and clean the wheels It might take close to an HR...

You really can't go wrong either way because you can mix/match and make either bike the other bike.
Not true. The Deluxe has many styling ques that the Heritage does not share. Bullet signal lamps, tombstone tail light, tank badge, no studs to name a few. I put bags and a shield on my Deluxe and it is much different than a Heritage.

I have a Heritage and like it alot. Great balance, lighter, etc.

But the deluxe looks better striped down cause of the tombstone taillight and bullet directionals. Oh and the solo seat looks good with that chrome bar wrapped around the back.

leaI went with the Heritage after testing them all out. It sits better and offers the flexibilty to change from a cruiser to street bike. I have detachable sissybar and the leather trunk. I also added locks to the saddle bags.

I didn't read all 6 pages, but if it hasn't been said before - look hard for a low mileage used bike. You should be able to find Heritage and Deluxe bikes that are 2-4 years old at a very big discount from brand new.

The DELUXE is the girls bike? oops. I just bought a Heritage. Damned salesman, he didn't tell me.

Seriously though - I like the looks of the Deluxe but have never ridden one. Sat on one and it felt O.K. Have a couple friends who love them. But the Heritage came with bags & shield, both of which I run with 99% of the time, so it was a better deal for me. Plus, I just fell in love with the one on the showroom floor. I traded in my Street Bob for the Heritage, and it was the best decision I made. I have absolutely found THE bike for me,fit wise, comfort wise, handling wise, accessories wise, looks wise. Because i'm short, the ONLY thing I might do is have the seat modified to scootch me forward just a bit. (I love the look of the stock seat). But it is not a big deal, that can wait til winter.

Like that look without the studs ... very nice ....

The bikes have a lot of similarities being FL Softails with same fenders ...

... but, as has been mentioned some pretty significant styling differences in my view leaning in favor of the Deluxe ....

I like the tombstone tail lamp and close-in bullet turn signals (also, the molded bracket in the front with bullets, too); the smooth chrome tins (more chrome generally) ...

I would change out the stock Deluxe floorboards in favor of the nostalgic half moon style ones ... also swap out the pipes for true duals ... and get a set of the reproduction Heritage Springer bags--they're bigger than the H-D bags designed for the Deluxe and look a lot better, IMHO ....

I prefer the mini-apes (old Wide Glide/Street Bob are more comfortable than the Heritage to me) over the stock Deluxe setup ....

Other than that I wouldn't change much ... other than big bore, cams, heads and EFI upgrade ....

But ... I could go with the Heritage ... and most of the same changes ... (am thinking the tail lamp could be replaced with the tombstone) ....

Good luck with your decision ... post photos ....
