Default Catastrophe!

Need some help. Just had custom paint put on my 2007 fat boy. I also have a side mount tail light so I had the hole in the fender filled in along with the rivet heads on the fenders shaved off. Looks amazing! My issue is putting it back together. I'm trying to rewire the rear turn signals and can't get it to work. I've re-installed the tank, but now the speedometer won't stop glowing. Do I need a new rear wiring harness and to start all over? I'm in the Fort Belvoir area, if there is an expert nearby, the beer is on me. Any advice would be appreciated.

I can't help you a bit, but your definition of a catastrophe and mine are at two totally different ends of the spectrum

good luck with the wiring though, and hope you get it resolved soon so you can ride, but you may catch more fish with a post title that says something like WIRING HELP NEEDED so people with that expertise will chime in.....

It's not a castastrophe because here in the great Commonwealth of VA, you can legally ride it without turn signals. So even if it takes you a few days to get it wired up right, you're still able to get out and ride.

Wiring issues are difficult. Best thing to do is to take a deep breath, take your time and work the wiring one wire at a time. You'll need to trace each wire to make sure you don't have a dead short or a cut wire in the circuit. A tester would be helpful.

If you don't have the factory Service, and Electrical Diagnostic Manuals, I'd definitely recommend getting them.
when I rewired (dewired) my 04 Road King, it would have been practically impossible without them.

That being said, as someone else said in your other post, check your grounds, a shared missing ground will cause back-feed issues.
