Default oxidation and light pits in chrome

got introduced to FAX WAX!!! Works really good on entire bike. Im looking for some of you vets to given me some pointers and tips!!! Hard to reach places that had oxidation and pits when I bought the bike. Just getting the bike Im more into riding than cleaning!!! Can i use a green scrotch bite pad and to work out these blemishings. Bike wasnt cleaned to well by previous owner. So im worried if i dont get this under control now. Ill have nothing but flaking chrome! I have polished my finger tips off using MOTHERS!! Just wandering whats the secret POLISH????

A Scotch brite pad will scratch the chrome.

+1 on scotch brite. It will scratch chrome. Once chrome is scratched its scratched. The chrome is so thin that if you apply to much pressure with 0000 fine wool, like some people have told me in the past, it will break through and discolor. Your best bet is to replace the piece of chrome. You can only polish so much, then your just wasting time. If it was polished aluminum you could use some 0000 fine wool and mothers in lights circles, but you have to be careful not to cause swirl marks. Hope this helps bro...

OLD Navy secret... if you ever used it you'll never forget the fond smell... you can try NEVER-DULL, buff with micro-fiber towel and then wax well with synthetic polymer [Maguiers or similar]

The aluminum foil trick works pretty darn good in getting rid of the early stages of pitting / rust spots.

Never dull is good stuff but it does leave fine scratch if you look at what you have polished at a different angle u can see the fine scratchs. Keep in mind the scratchs from Never dull are very smal but with time i would think they would become noticeable with continued use in the same areas
