so i just got my street slammers the other day and was debating on powdercoating them or leaving them chrome. i am blacking the bike out, but i dodnt really want the black powdercoated bars. so i was thinking about what to do to lose some of the chrome. was in my computer room and in the corner was my baseball bat that i used in college and i remembered that i used to "snake" my grip. so i thought...maybe id try it with my bars.








i used 1/2" leather strips from tandy leather and spike studs to keep them in place. all told...i think i spent about 40 bucks on materials and about an hour or so in time.

opinions?

 

i like the idea... but think you need more. Looks a little odd with so wrapped

 

I think you are better off using leather braids if you want leather on your bars

Looks OK, but would look better completely wrapped (like bat handle), or just go w/powdercoating...IMO.

 

Not for me, but I have short black leather strips hanging from hand levers. Don't dare to call 'em tassels. I think bars should be solid color, coated black, wrapped completly or shiney chrome. Sit on it, concentrate real hard for 5 minutes, then decide. Your choice but go with HER choice.
