Different, that's for sure, but like Citoriplus said, I would bet that they would look like a cheap storm door after a few miles.
My opinion?
Yuck, even when clean.

I think I'm going to spring for a set of these next...spring.

hmmmm...I was thinking the same thing. Noticed no front brake right off.
So did I, but if you look at it and remember that its a pic of a SEMA show bike. The lack of a front brake makes sense. The forks are blacked out and they used a unique hub without spacers to show off and call attention to the wheel itself. Personally I would have liked to see it with a nice two piece chrome or polished stainless steel rotor and chromed out 4 or 6 piston caliper.
In all likelyhood that bike was built as a show piece for the wheel and is a true trailer queen and like many of them doesn't even run. So the lack of a front brake isn't much of a safety issue at all. It does make you wonder if the wheel can handle the stresses that a brake can put on one, doesn't it.
That's true. A hub mounted brake would apply a significant amount of torsional force to the wheel especially if it was a single disk.

You know what I think would work good with this type of setup would be a system that is rim mounted like what is used on the Buells (only polished of course).

Now those are cool. I love wheels that have a directional sweep to them. Makes it look like it's hauling *** standing still.

I saw a rear wheel on one of the chopper displays at Sturgis that was completely clear. I had to do a double take. You could actually see the inside of the tire!! First time I had been able to see the air in a tire.[sm=insomnia.gif]

Yuck!

ORIGINAL: Citoriplus

I found these CLEAR polycarbonate wheels and wondered if anyone else had seen them.

They would look really slick on a bike with a lot of chrome. But at $2000 each there a bit out of my price range.

For a bit of info on them you can look here.
