When I called and spoke with them to order mine, someone at LaPera actually recommended vinyl from a wear and tear and ease of care perspective. I went ahead and got the vinyl and have been very pleased with it.

wow I can't believe all the vinyl seats. I went with leather although I do live in Calif, the bike does not sit outside all day in the sun and I do not ride in the rain. Taking care of leather is a no brainier. I figure the stock HD seat is vinyl so why in the world would I go with vinyl again but it appears I'm the odd man out. Good luck.

If anyone is selling one let me know, I want a LXE-007.
I got the vinyl Barebones and love it. Figure I can get it re-covered if anything happens to it. Before that, had a vinyl Mustang solo which was still in perfect condition after 4 years. I just didn't like the look of it and gave it to a friend.

I did opt for the gel padding on the Lepera though.

I say just get it covered with Crown Royal bags. That should look good with minimum care.

how's the gel? I hate to hijack, but my question would be, gel or foam?
