Default Dead in the Water.

I posted alittle while ago that the bike went dead and I thought it was the ignition switch. Turns out its fine. Some people said the main breaker and to let it reset. Well I got it running and went for a ride till midnight. Went to leave for work at 7:30 the next morning. Turned the switch and had power & the fuel pump cycled. Hit the start button and it cranked once, then clicked like the battery was low then I lost all power again. I got nothin'. No lights, pump, starter, squat!! If anyone has any ideas I'd be greatful. I tested the battery and I have 12.49 volts. I have the battery tender on it and the light is green. It's been down 4 days now so I don't think the main breaker has to reset. Just looking for some insight before I give up and send it to the shop.

Have you taken a wrench and checked the battery terminals for tightness...that is the problem 90% of the time.

I'll start there tomorrow. The cables felt tight but I'm gonna double check.

Does your headlight dim out, is the battery good (passes a load test) Don't just check the battery connections, check ground to frame (2+), positive to starter, also rock the kill switch back and forth while holding the starter button in, it might be dodgey.

My last bike (sportster) did the same thing. Was dead except had it on a charger and it appeared charged and tested 12+ volts. Looked normal. Put in a new battery. Bike fired right up. Try a different battery also!!!

+1 on that, happened to me too. Battery tested OK but didn't hold a charge.

If it's not a bad ground or loose cable, I'd suspect your battery is shorting out a cell under load. Get it tested....
