Sprung on a Softie ..... ?
I was wondering if anyone has a solo sprung seat for a Softail . I am wondering how that works out. It is time to dump the original FLSTN seat ( Fat-boy style ) and get a new one . When I wash mine I always take the seat off and ride it around the yard to the spigot and I really like the way I sit "down" in the bike. I have looked at the Bare Bones and the LePera silhouette's but still just undecided. Any feed back would be great !

Your options depend on what year your bike is. I looked, and did the initial stages of creating a fiberglass seat pan before finding a barebones on ebay for a song. I think I paid $50 plus shipping.
Won't a spring seat make you sit higher?
Even making my own seat pan, I was looking at $750 and up to get everything I needed.
Mustang has a pseudo spring seat as well. It looks kinda like a sprung seat, but it isn't. Might want to check that out.

My local dealer just setup a heritage in their showroom with the HD sprung seat installed. I loved the look and just sitting on it it seemed like it would be a decent seat for shorter rides. Not cheap though, so I'm sure you could find better. Was very clean looking though. I'm on the fence about looking for one myself, but like a few other mods I have in mind, it's going to have to wait.
