Default Deluxe Seat

Just picked up '07 Deluxe as first Harley, (Dealer experience was not the greatest!!) but that is an other subject., Just wondering if anyone has info on seats that will move you back, no so much interseted in up, and allow the passanger seat also, I love the look of the Deluxe and I knew the seat was low before I bought it, and it is not so hard on me that I would be willing to give up the look for a one piece two up seat. Any pics of solo saddle and info would be great.
Thanks

pic was taken on halloween night, hence face paint!

Some have taken their Deluxe seats to an upholstery shop and had foam shaved out of them. Most have been happy with this. I may do mine also.

BTW - Love your bike

I tried shaving the seat but it still killed my tailbone. Went with the Mustang Vintage wide solo and couldn't be happier.

I shaved foam out of the back area, were it scoops up. This moved me back about 1/2-3/4" and the seat is way more comfortable. I hated the way the foam ramped up from the bottom of the seat to the top edge. Was your son a tail pipe inspector for halloween?

Curlingace-

Welcome to the forum!! Lots of great advice available on the site!! I sent my '05 Deluxe seat out to www.americanasoftseats.com They took off the cover, cut out a piece of foam in the right place, inserted a gel pad, then covered it all up with memory foam. Feels great now, and pushed me up and back a bit. I also bought a replacement seat rail that was from an old Springer. Had to search on eBay. Others on this forum have had luck with getting one at www.zanottimotor.com On the back of that new rail, you can put a low or tall seat back that's available on the HD website. Pic of the back of mine is below. Hope this helps. Recommend browsing thru the entire Softail Deluxe picture posting - it's about 50 pages now, but has lots of advice on things that individuals have done with their bikes. Enjoy the customization of your bike, especially thru the winter months!

go to vendors sale section here on HD forum & look under seat mod. That is a guy who mods seats. Harley Davison sales a tall boy seat. [8D]

Curlingace,

As I am new to this site, I just saw your post and I didn't see where anyone showed you the Corbin seat for the Deluxe. It took a little tweaking to get it to fit, but I like it better than the stock H-D seat. Usually I leave off the pad and luggage rack and put on a Mustang studded fender bib, which matches pretty good. If you plan on longer distance rides, I would highly recommend buying the backrest which comes with this seat.
