As for the quick-disconnect, it's not technically, but it comes off fast, just a couple of allen bolts holds the shield on. Another four hold on the clamps, whole thing can be put on/taken off in a few minutes.

No. I wondered the same thing. Put mine on yesterday and went for a two-hour test ride. Held my hand under the shield and very little wind coming through at all.

It's all quality hardware, but still, they're brackets, and fairly large for stability. They have to be because they hold the shield up from the bottom, no ugly metal bands across the middle. They're definitely noticeable. I take them off when I take off the shield.
