As far as what kit, there are a lot choices. I did the Screaming Eagle 95" kit so I would not have to wait for my cylinders to be bored or anything else. I kept me heads stock for now as I want longevity on my engine that already has a lot of miles on it.

I run a 203 cam which com,es on earlier but does not give as much power up high. fI am going to be digging into my cam chest again this week as I w2ill be adding the newer Hydraulic style tensioners and bigger oil pump that my older (2002) bike lacks. Assuming my cams look fine I will reuse the same ones.

If you did the cams yourself you can do the big bore yourself no problem.

S&S cams are great too as are Andrews. If there is any wear on my 203's I am going to go to Andrew's 21 or 26. When I did the 203's i got them super cheap off ebay and I was really broke. Given my druthers in that situation I would avhe done something different.

Another question I have is I go on long rides a lot and I'm worried about how it will hold up as well

The big bore kit won't hurt reliability, as long as you have a cam that is for the low to mid ranges and you aren't hammering on it all the time.

I had my cylinders bored, headwork, and piston reliefs done by Short Block Charlies in Tempe, AZ. He optimized my the build and my S&S 510G cams by decking the heads to get the proper compression ratio. After receiving my parts back, I re-assembled my engine and have over 50K miles on the 95" build.
