I don't know why it won't work either... I am taking the dealers word that it won't work. Looks like the oem speedo and tach combo are the same size. They didn't have to change out the console when they put the new tach in..

where did ya get it,i been looking for one,pics please,,
It is a Harley part but they can be had from aftermarket also.Harley part number is 71109-05.
