Default Oil tank Paint is cracking

I have a 2011 Fatboy lo in Denim Black. Great bike. While I was cleaning it, I noticed the left side of the oil tank has some spiderweb cracks in the wrinkle black paint. Has anyone else seen this? I did see some posts on dofferent bikes. Harley is going to warranty it. The bike has 1600 miles, and it is 2 months old. I hope the paint on the new one does not crack. The tank is like 470 or so if I had to buy it. O.0

I've got a 2010 Lo .... my tank is done in a matte black ... so I can't give you a comparo....however my engine case is done in wrinkle black .... I can't see any cracks in the coating. Maybe the tank didn't get a good heat soak or worse yet, they mixed up a bad batch of wrinkle.

Same on my 2008 Rocker, it started last year and is getting worse.
After 3 years I have no more warranty, so I'm thinking about getting a new paint job or maybe the chromed oil tank.

I have no idea what it could be. Maybe it's due to the heat, but why is it only on one side of the oil tank?
If here are some other Rocker owners with this issue, please let me know.

i had a similar issue with my denim oil tank but there were no actual cracks, just many splatter looking blotches, on both sides of the oil tank...it was at about 5000 miles and 1 year in so it was replaced with warranty.....they didnt know the cause of the problem.

My 07 Standard did the same thing. It was a chrome tank under some paint. Chunks of paint / material were flying off!! HD replaced it under the warranty and I haven't had a problem since. They even asked it I wanted a chrome tank instead. Told them I want the stock on back and they said no. It was defected.
