Default 05 NT DNA Fender

I bought a strutless fender for my 05 Nightrain from DNA and am having trouble figuring out how to mount it. Basically the width of the fender mounting points isnt wide enough to cover from side to side because of the horns. Any ideas?

never bought one, but I've heard you've gotta cut those horns off when you retro-fit a new fender in there. What fender did you buy?

Yeah pretty sure Imboden is right on the older bikes the horns have to come off, but i would check with the fender makers, or a Harley dealership before you get the hacksaw out.

It is the 180 rear fender. 11 inches wide. I knew I would have to cut off the horns but it is to wide and th base of the horns. I'm prolly going to have to grind the sides down. Darn.

11" between the mounting points is for a 99 down frame...99 -2006 is 11.75

A little more research before buying would have helped you.
These strutless fenders involve a LOT of fab work. Grinding, welding, etc. You can't just pop it on the bike. Even with '07+ bike which have the removable horns, the fit has to be exact.

I speak from experience. I bought this fender off of Demons Cycle and got burned.

I see you went with the Heartland kit. Im going to cut, grind, and weld it to fit. It will work until I order an RSD Tracker. Thanks fellas.

yeah, when all was said and done, it made the most sense for me. Expensive, but for me, worth it.
