Did my 1K service, 3 quart max engine oil?

I usually wind up adding 2 qts + about 22-24 oz. Leave about 8-10 oz in the 3rd qt. Comes out a little over half way up the good range on the dip stick cold and checks good hot. Old dude, OK my age, showed that me a few years back. Made me nervous for a long time, but I have never had an overservicing issue, nor has it ever been low. You gotta check it hot yourself though, trust no one.

I always add 2 quarts, let it run for a few minutes to circulate, and then add as desired. I never add it to the full mark when cold as when it warms up it will be too full. Take it on a 10 minute ride with 2-2.5 quarts and check the oil, tehn add more if needed. If you ever have the chance to get oil sprayed all over the bike and your leg you will always remember.
I use a shor extension (3") with a long socket on a ratchet. It gets easier the more you do the tranny. If yoa veh overfilled
