This is just hearsay, but from what most cops who work grab state, devices like lojac and the like really only work for finding your car when it got towed. The thieves find the tracking device and get rid of it too quickly for the vehicle to be recovered. Something like 90% of the successful recoveries are from tows, etc. and not theft. I'm sure the GPS type companies will state differently, but that's just what I've heard including first hand from quite a few cops in different areas.

 

That may be true. I have never had a bike stolen. I have used the FIN system and it does work. Had one bike on a lift while i was at work. Little bro was in there and lowered it. I knew about it before the lift touched the ground through a text Message. About a minute later i was also told through an email.
