Angry Big rear brake problem advice PLEASE!

I took my 2008 Fatboy into the dealer for a new rear tire. They said my rear Bearing was worn out(brakes are fine). They replaced it. I drove away. The next day I rode 50 km or so and heard a rubbing noise in the rear brake. Got home and my rear rotor was red hot. I called them and took it back to them. They say I need a new rotor and pads(they are now worn right out after 100km). They want me to pay for the pads and the deductable. I called another dealer and told them the story. They said the bearings are installed wrong and caused the pressure on the brakes. This dealer is saying they are just going to replace the rotor and pads. I want the bearings checked and they will not do it. I am going on a 2000 km trip next week. They are not listening to me. And i should not have to pay a dime. Any advice please????????

They also said that because the old bearing was worn out. Fixing it caused the breaks to heat up(sounds fishy to me)

Sounds like they installed the bearings wrong, disc side must go in first to get the right spacing...that would put your rotor right into your break pad on one side... Dealer is at fault in my opinion and should make it right.

As said above bearings and/or spacers were installed wrong to cause the rotor to bind and cause premature wear. They are at fault on this one. I checked all over the hd main site and could not find any type of customer service contact but there must be one out there. I would call a dealer and ask them for a customer service number to coporate.

Also don't ride the bike until it is corrected. If the bearings are installed wrong you will most likely get on here telling us you went down.

I am also sorry to hear it bro. This kind of sh*t is so rediculous and un-called for. I have installed 100's of these wheels. Trust me that a mechanic would know that something is binding up. And I am sure others here would agree.

I am at the dealer. They said I have to pay for the pads and deductable. Saying the bearing was causing the disc to warp so when they put the new bearing in it was wearing on the other side. How the hell do they expect me to believe this crap. My brakes were fine before they replaced the bearing. I need to call someone who can help at HD

I don't beleive that crap for one minute. Glad you guys found that number I must be blind. Anyway if you old bearing was that screwed up or the spacing for the bearing was that screwed up you would have had bigger problems.

They seriously expect you to pay for new pads with only 100km on them? Get thee to an Indy after this comedy of errors is over. I feel sorry for all of their customers.

And why do I cringe when I walk into a dealer or have to have someone else work on my bike?
