I think you will love them though if you decide to go with it. your bike would look killer with them!

I agree, I started riding with apes last year and wont go back! I also have back issues, and the apes keep me nice and straight so I can ride longer without my back bothering me.
That rocker would look sick with apes!
As for laws, in my area you can have them high if your tall... the law is if your hands are higher than your shoulders. so if you see a cop just sit up tall till you ride by, lol.

Apes are the best mod I've done to date. It takes about an hour to get used to them...I will never own another bike without them.

If you want to try out mini apes you can stop by a H-D dealer and sit on a Heritage or Crossbones.

My local H-D had 2 used bikes one with 16" apes and another with 18" apes. Only worry is turns haven't had the chance to do anything but a parking lot with mini apes.

I always thought that my hands would go numb and my arms would hurt if i got apes, but after riding with drag bars forever with my back and neck hurting I decided to sit on a heritage at the dealer with 16" apes. I ordered some chubbys right there and my back and neck thank me now. Only thing is I kind of wish i would have went 18" instead. What a comfy relaxed ride now. I think your bike would look great with a set of apes.

thanks for all of your opinions, confirms my feeling. It is unanimous to go with apes!

I will start thinking on which ones & do some measuring.

The laws here say they cannot be above your shoulders.

The only thing you might regret is not going taller!
I had 16 inch with 2 inch risers and now my handlebars are about 20-21 inches tall...
I regretted I didnt go higher the first time ...

I've been riding 16" apes for 10 + years, at one time on 16" risers, now on 2". They are relatively comfortable, but do not expect the comfort of a standard bar. I can still do a 4 to 5 hundred mile day, but I am tired afterwards. I am almost 50 years old..whatever that means.

I see my friends move to Road Kings, EG's...etc. I just can't make the move. But, they are certainly more comfortable.

If you like a look, I say go for it. You'll get used to whatever you choose if thats what you really want. I did. Before you buy you have to be happy with whatever you choose.
