Default Fishtails or No?

I thought I was done, now that I've got the beach bars. But it seems like it might be cryin' out for some fishtails. On the other hand, what I have is kind of a unique setup.

Seems like Samsons are popular. I have Vance & Hines Straightshots now.

Opinions on fishtails or not, and what brand if so?

i think you're allowed to add fishtails to any harley with 'Classic' in the name
it might even be required in some states

Just say no!

I have never been a fan of fishtails, but what do I know I think Rockers are cool.

Fish tails, about the 33" length.

P.S. those bars look great on your bike.

Do it! I just put some Samsons on my Heritage and they really complete the look. Not to mention the sound is unbelievable.

Wouldn't quite fit the look of a Fatboy or Rocker but I think they look good on bikes like the Deluxe.

Thanks, I'll do that if I'm going to buy fishtails. I have a few questions...since you have a store.

1) I'm wondering if I go with Samsons what would be equivalent to what I have sound-wise. I've checked out the Samson's and it seems they offer mufflers, baffles or neither. I have V&H Straightshots, and I don't think they have baffles.... but I'm not sure. They're loud, but not obnoxious. My wife and I ride and talk (loudly) over them and we take long trips on the bike. She likes the noise as much as I do. It really growls on accel and pops on decel. We're going to Bike Week again this year so I'll check out whatever bikes I can in person.

2) From what I have read, Samson's require and include a bent shift linkage to make room for the left pipe. It seems Vance & Hines does not according to some pics I've seen online, which is kind of a plus for me.

3) Heat shields. Are Samson's effective to prevent discoloration? My V&H have been really super.

I'd be interested in your opinion of why Samson's over V&H. I see V&H has only one size, but that might be the size I go with, or the middle length Samson's that are just beyond the rear fender. (I'm not going with the 39").

Thanks, and your answers here might be helpful to others who are looking.
