I'm running the shortest one- the Wildheart. Trust me, it looks the coolest, but it truly is "for demonstration purposes only". It does NOT work as an actual fender.

'08 Night Train here as well!

I like the shorter one better as it shows off more of the fat tire and the whole point of the HL stuff is to put on the fat tire,. Might as well show it off!

I actually like the fuller fender. I had my stock rear fender laying on padding over the rear tire while installing my Siren II.
It was laying further back down the tire and I loved the look.
If I was going to get a HL setup, it would be the 32" with built-in plate mount.
I think that's the one Rocker_Dan is running.
The shorts ones look great, but I don't need a free back wash in the rain.

Go for the 280 conversion, and then the short one... looks better but only if you can slam it with a air suspension.... so Shotguns needed as well!!

I have the 20", but in any wet roads, be prepared for water down your neck!!

I am debating the same thing. The HL kit is my winter mod this year. I dont ride int he rain and I dont have a front fender so I am leaning towards the shorter one. I agree with JY Kelly the shorter one looks much better. I havent seen the one thats referred to thats longer with built in plate though.

If you go to the HL site they have many pics to dig through. I am not sure if you found that or not yet. Its been a daily stop for me when killing time to check different pics and see what I like and dont like.

Why is that??? I have a $155 phantom pad that my gf sit on. The fender is plenty strong enough to hold her times 2

Besides from getting the "wet back" look, the fender works as a fender....if thats what you mean by demonstration purpose only.
