If there's no real performance upgrade to replacing the hypercharger with a different aftermarket A/C, I think I'll keep the hypercharger. Seems to **** a lot of people off.
On my '99 FXDX, I took the guts (flappers, etc) out of the Hypercharger, powdercoated the inside, and just ran it as an air scoop basically (I still kept the KN filter inside of it). I had no issues, and it ran quite well.
My bike already had the hypercharger when I bought it, wouldn't have been my first choice but it's pretty far down the to-do list. Fat spokes and nacelle will be first and air cleaner will probably wait till winter. Until then I'm cool with it.
