I have the HD lock mounted on my handle bars though the helmet just looks like it is hanging.

$6 small cable padlock works great with the full face.

The only way to keep a helmet from being stolen is to take it with you.

I know more than a few friends who've locked them to the bike and came back to find them gone.

Takes just a second to cut a helmet strap.

If someone wants my helmet bad enough to cut the strap then they can have it.....I believe the lock is a deterrent. Yes the ultimate solution is carry your helmet with you but that's a pain in the *** that's why they make locks.

Ruger pistol lock thru the d rings and around the backrest upright. If they want it bad enough they are gonna take it anyway. Now i need to find a way to lock my jacket with it.

I bought some thin plastic coated cable, a couple of slugs so I could make a loop at each end and a very small padlock at Ace's and made my own for my FF.
My helmet isn't expensive. It would just be a PITA to replace it.
The FF I have fits my head good. I replaced the clear shield with a smoked one because of the constant bright sun in SW Florida.
I doubt if many people would want to steal my FF but it will keep the average slime bag from just lifting it off the bike.

You know what they say, locks on a house or anything else are there for honest people.

A thief is coming in, or taking what he wants regardless, a deterrent just slows him down for a second.

If I have a helmet with me, it GOES with me.

Haven't had one stolen since I started this in 1967.

I went the cheap route and got one of these at the local Wally World:

http://www.amazon.com/Master-Lock-46.../dp/B000WO84Z2

Just enough cable to go through a buckle and around the handlebars.

+1 on the small lock. I'll only use it when I get a bad feeling about a place...but it's nice to have....just in case.
