Default 2n1 vs 2n2

hey ... im sure this has been asked 1000 times but my search skills suck ....
but im interested in the advantages in 2n1 and 2n2 pros cons and what is a good set of pipes ? im new to harleys (hell havent even picked mine up yet "July") but am try to get all my parts together so i can go home and slap em on .... been lookin at pics and like sets of both

big radius 2 in 1 and 2 in 2
long shots
python 2 in 1

also wonder about the electronic baffle pipes like the peacemakers or jekill and hyde pipes ... does anyone have these and can you actually tune these to a normal efi ... thundermax?

but am open to suggestions and ideas

also lookin for somthin good for when the wife rides with me (she likes puttin her boot on the pipe ... dont ask

IMO the Br 2-1 is Ugly..
the BR2-2 is a pretty good set for Numbers.. son had a set that the dnyo surprised me how good it was

Most any 2-1 will net better #'s in the 2k -3.5k rpms...

Around here tuners say the Pythons are hard to tune,, just saying what I've heard...

Check out the D&D's, the newer V&H's, Thundereheader for 2-1 systems that are in the top group.

2-1 will balance the power/engine better.

2-2 will make less power and uses one jug more (one will make more heat and less HP/TQ).

It like long tubes or an X pipe for a car vs shorty headers and an H pipe. The design works better on a 2-1 set up.

2-1 for performance.

2-2 for sound/looks.

Me, I think 2-1 looks good. I have the Rineharts 2-1's, and almost got the D&D low cat.

I looked at sound, quality, performance. Everyone has their own taste, some like short 2-2, and some like long 2-1's.

IMHO the sound should be the main thing you look at, as that is what you will have to deal with the most.

Nope. A good 2 into one will not only give you better numbers, which really don't always equate into usable power, it will give good performance at higher rpm. A two into two system might yield slightly better numbers for peak horsepower. Then again it might not. The 2 into 1 will scavange the exhaust out of the cylinder better throughout the bikes usable rpm range. It will give you more torque at lower rpms and continue to produce a lot of torque up to redline. The 2 into 1 will give you a lot better throttle response than duals. If the duals did provide more top end horsepower it won't matter. Even in a drag race the motor isn't running at max rpm all the time. The increased power in the mid range will have you way ahead of the same bike with duals. He might start to catch up just before shifting, but when he does you are out powering him again. Check out the full out drag racer V Rod that Harley sells It comes with a 2 into 1.

2-1 for best all around performance is what I've always heard but I just hate the looks of them. I have 2-2's on both my bikes and am willing to live with any performance sacrifice for the looks.
