Can u disconnect the solenoid connector without removing the oil tank?
Is there any way to reach the solenoid connector wire and disconnect it without removing the oil tank on a 2006 Deluxe? My hand won't fit up in there from under the oil tank. The connector wire was pinch between the oil tank and starter. It frayed, was touching the tank and causing a short. I pulled it free, wrapped it in electrical tape and thought I had it fixed. I got a mile from the house and the bike cut out on me at 40mph. Luckily there was no traffic and I pulled into a parking lot. It wouldn't start, not even with a jump from my wife's car. I'm debating taking it to my mechanic, but I'm almost positive it's not starting because the starter is not getting enough juice from the battery because of the damage to the connector wire.

Nevermind, I took the bike to the dealership. I needed the front wheel checked for balance anyway. I've been noticing a very faint wobble, especially in some turns.
In case anyone needs to know, you can loosen the oil pan and pry it out far enough to get at the soleniod connector wire, so you don't have to take the oil pan all the way off.
