Clymer is probably ok for this. I have both, but mainly use the Harley manual. The Clymer can provide different pictures or may explain things that are common knowledge with mechanics, but I've seen errors in it too.
Thanks Drew,
That guys sounds like hes gonna have a heart attack jesus.
Anyway...after you adjust the clutch pack, what about the loosened cable that he took the robber gromet off of? Just tighten it back up ?
Fluids are cheap, when in doubt for any reason, change them, it turns out to be much cheaper than replacing the engine or trans.
I change all three holes ever 5K, that works out to nearly 3 times per year for me, if you don't ride so much, change them at least once per riding season.
My bike is getting harder to get nuetral, not like its really difficult anyway but a little more effort than usual. When shifting, the gear engauge seems to be getting louder and "harder".
Time to change the tranny fluid, or is this more than that. I only changed my oil to mobil 1 V twin before I brought it to Boston. Left the other fluids alone for now. But it may be time ai guess.
Are there milage milestones that these fluids should be changed?
Ive only gone 2500 mi since purchased.(fyi)
thanks to all.

Sounds just like my bike....from the day I drove it home new ....to its current 11,000 miles. Neutral has always been a bitch....and I have tried every recommended fluid and additive. I tired underfilling too...and no change. I put it down to American engineering...and left it at that. If it doesn't clunk..when I shift....now I worry about it. It's a Harley....made in the USA....by people just like us....it ain't gonna be perfect....by definition it can't be perfect.
