I found that the HD Formula or full syn 75w140 gear oil does about the same...

You do know that you are permitted to just skip right over this post without reading it if you so desire. The search engine is not the where-with-all and the end to all things. Posts such as this revive interest and bring other interested parties on-board all the time. Now, care to share what you use in your tranny? I run Royal Purple 75w-140w.

I use to use Spectrum 6speed synthetic in the tranny but it's hard to find so I switched to belray rear saver 85-140 which I can get at my local dealer. It's cheaper too. Mine takes a quart but keep in mine the belray comes in a litre container.

I've stuck with the HD formula+ for the primary. Never any good reason to change and it's worked fine.

Mobile 20-50 syn for the engine. Stands up to the high temps better which gives me more confidence when I get the occasional 250+ temps. Hasn't made my bike run any cooler as some claim.

I like Amsoil severe gear 90-110. I know it's not a six speed but I still think it's good stuff, nice smooth shifts!!

I'm using this in my '07 6-speed and it's great. Smooth shifts, and easier to find neutral.

Most newbies don't know we have a special section just for Oils and Oil related topics..

There is no magic/best Oils for Ur bike, only info U'll get is what others like to use and their opinion, so the answer is like A$$holes, we all have one... just being honest..

In the special section on oils U'll see a survey on whats most popular or what most use..
Soo heres the link to that section so U can see what the high % of us use...

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/oil-a...ted-topics-30/

Here's the Primary survey.
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/oil-a...ur-choice.html

Heres the Tranny survey..
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/oil-a...o-you-use.html

Heres the Motor oil survey..
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/oil-a...your-bike.html

U'll find that most popular is Amsoil or Mobil 1 V-twin.
I personally like the Mobil v-twin 20-50 in motor and pri.. and Mobil GL 75-90 in Tranny.
I 've used Syn3, then Formula+, Then Belray 80-140, and now the GL75-90 which I like better than any of the others I've used in the Tranny and its easy to get and can be found on sale quite often.

So is it the BEST,,,, NO,, I like the way she shifts now, IMO its better in my bike in our colder climate than the other oils that I've used.
