Rode to Madisonville, TN to meet up with my bro-in-law. (300 miles one way) From there we made a quick trip over to Maryville to get on US129. One of the greatest roads in the US! This one has been on my riding destination "bucket list" for years.

The ride was an absolute blast! 318 curves in 11 miles. The cops and state troopers were all over the place. Kept it close to the posted speed limits, still managed to scrape the floorboards about a dozen times.

The weather was perfect. Sunny, upper 70's.

I have lots of screen captures (45+) from the various photographers along the ride. Don't wanna post any of the proofs 'til we pay them for the prints. Well, maybe 129photos won't mind since we'll be sending them lots of money...

This road is on a friend of mine's bucket list too.. he wants to ride the blue ridge parkway then cut around going back up north on this road.. sounds like a fun time

 

Leaving a week from tomorrow to head up that way. Can't wait. Glad you had fun.

That'd be a great trip! I want to go back soon, when we have more time. We didn't get to ride the Cherohala Skyway.

We did! And you will too! Watch your speed... there was a cop every 1.5-2 miles on the dragon. We didn't mind, they kept the sport bikers and "ricer cars" in line, and made it a safer experience for everyone.

 

Love that ride... I grew up in Maryville, TN! Gotta love East TN, especially in the fall time. Congrats on a great ride!

 

looks like a great ride, I've never been but will get there when back in the states.

 

I can't wait to ride the Dragon definately on my list I have a kid that lives in winston salem and I am sure that i will make that a side trip

 

I'm heading that way the first week in June, staying at the Tuskegee Motel in Robbinsville. Got any tips you can share for the ride?

 

Dragon is fun...a bit short...just ride it a few time.

When you're out that way make sure you hit the Cherohala Skyway. Great road and great sights!
