The whole Harley Davidson experience has revolved around accesorizing a bike to personalize it to your tastes. This has been done all the way back to the 30's and earlier and Harley has capitalized on this fact with tons on aftermarket bolt ons being provided for their customers so I don't think personalizing this bike to my tastes is a sin by any means.

I'd just hate to spend $1,000 on engine covers.

If it was a little more reasonable I wouldn't hesitate.

If I had a little more disposable cash, I'd take posing to a new extreme and order one of these!

Put it back to stock. I've been trying to find a stock 84 FXST forever and they are very hard to come by. When they do pop up they are pretty pricey.

Look at that coupe! You don't need input, you know what you are doing. You have the eye. Go for it, get it done and see what it turns out like.
I am sure you can break even on it, worse case. I think it will be cool- for the right buyer. (there are plenty of buyers)
I am going to pick up 3 or 4 bikes (more if the deals are there) this winter and do somethings I think will make me a few dollars when I re-sell them in the spring. There is only one way to know- do it.
I'd keep it HD though, think you narrow the buyers down a lot going with the Indian theme. (would be bad *** though)
Posts pics along the way!

John, you have vision and obvious expertise. Go with Knuck theme
and you will sell it. I can see whatever you build will be BADASS!!!
We all look forward to its completion!!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, A Black Rimmed 38 Knuck Black paintschemed bike with the leafspring front end will be dramatic, though confusing.

I just have to do it for the "pop". You just don't see leafspring hand shift bikes on the road.

She ought to draw a crowd at the bike gatherings. Oh man.... and can you imagine the hold up at gas stations....
