Default solid state face mask

Anyone here sporting one of the metal face masks from solidstatecovers.com? They look cool enough, and certainly would offer some protection from hard bugs and rocks, but wonder how comfortable/practical they are....looks like they might catch a lot of wind and flop around.

The website has a disclaimer something to effect that it offers no protection and unless you want to be impaled by it to be aware of your surroundings and ride safe. But they DO look cool.

Maybe in a parade of shock troops...
Doesn't seem very practical with it's very limited view area.
Something I wouldn't be surprised to see at a big run event, but not on the road at any other time.

I remember a guy in the 80's who wore one of those. He was always wanting turtle soup...

I have only seen one in person once. It was hanging on a bike and not actually being used but it looks rather road warrior-ish.

Might as well get a full face helmet, way more comfortable.

This is too aggressive looking for daily usage and probably heavy to boot.

LOL, those things are hilarious You'll be the laughing stock of every bike run you attend. Personally I've always thought those face scarfs looked silly enough on so many of today's "soft-core" riders, but these take it to a whole new level. Makes for a good Monday morning laugh, though.

Their ads should read: You like posing on you bike but hate the wind in your face while riding to your favorite posing site? We have the answer ... the Face Cage! It takes the feeling of riding a motorcycle, out of riding a motorcycle. Be as protected from the elements as riding in your car, and look bad doing it! Ask about our optional Darth Vader electronic voice box ... sold separately at $49.94.
