Default Fat Boy Lo Fork Covers

So, I'm sitting here at work, thinking about how I really don't like the glossy black fork covers behind the headlight on my new Lo. Why put something shiny black on a denim black bike? Anyway, since I can't remove it right now, has anyone removed it? How does it look. Any tips on painting it to be a close match to make it look better?

i had to remove mine only to remove the headlight and the forks.. personally i think it looks like butt with them removed..it exposes this big ugly block of aluminum that the headlight mounts to, and then there's no where for your front brake line to attach to so that'll just be dangling around.. no doubt in my mind you could paint it a flat black to match the rest of the bike, and someone on here knows which paint matches the best.. i dont because i have the vivid black.. but to each their own..
